SSC photo: live photo guide and signature resizer

In the current SSC application form (for example CHSL 2026), your photo is taken live with the camera of your phone or computer. You don't upload a photo file, so there is no photo size or KB limit to meet.

What you do upload is your signature: a JPG file of 10–20 KB, about 6 × 2 cm. PhotoSuvidha makes that file in a few seconds.

SSC: what to know

  • Before you open the form, sit in front of a plain, light wall with light on your face. The live photo shows whatever is behind you.
  • Face the camera straight on and keep your whole face visible: no cap, mask or dark glasses.
  • Some older forms and other recruitments still ask for an uploaded photo. If yours does, use the size in that notice with Custom Size, or the 75% Face Coverage tool.

How to resize your signature for SSC

  1. 1Sign on plain white paper with a black or blue pen. Press firmly.
  2. 2Take a photo of it from straight above, in good light, without shadows.
  3. 3Tap “Resize SSC signature”, pick the photo and crop close around the signature.
  4. 4Download the 6 × 2 cm (472 × 157 px), 10–20 KB JPG file and upload it in the form.

Common mistakes

  • Signing on lined, coloured or crumpled paper.
  • Lots of empty paper around the signature. Crop close so it stays readable.
  • A faint pen, or a photo taken at an angle.
  • A file below the minimum KB. Some forms reject very small files.

Frequently asked questions

What is the SSC signature size?

SSC asks for the signature as a JPG file of 10–20 KB, sized 6 × 2 cm (472 × 157 px).

Do I need to upload a photo for SSC?

Not in the current SSC application form. The photo is taken live with your camera while you fill in the form, and only the signature is uploaded.

What if my form still asks for a photo file?

Use the size and KB given in that notice: enter them in Custom Size, or use the 75% Face Coverage tool, which frames the face the way SSC-style photos need.

Is my photo uploaded or stored anywhere?

No. PhotoSuvidha resizes and compresses the image inside your browser, on your own phone or computer. The image is never sent to our server.

Is it free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no watermark and no charge.
